MACDC Action Alert
House passed foreclosure bill but we need to call Senate one more time!!
Please call Senate TODAY to ask they concur with the House bill

CONGRATULATIONS!!! The calls from CDCs and others kept coming and yesterday the House unanimously passed the Foreclosure Relief bill (An Act Relative to Stabilizing Communities; H 4934) yesterday afternoon.  ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS!!  However, we NOW need to call our Senators and ask them to concur to the House bill.  There isn’t time (the legislative session ends on Saturday) for the two branches to reconcile the minor differences.   Thank you for recognizing that all of these requests for phone calls are important and a part of the process.

Please call your Senator TODAY (Wednesday, July 27th) and ask him/her (go to www.wheredoivotema.com to find your Senator’s Boston office number):

“Hello, my name is ---- and I am calling from [CDC name].  I wanted to ask the Senator to please concur with the House on the Foreclosure bill (H. 4934).  It is very similar to the Senate’s bill which passed unanimously in April.  Please thank the Senator for helping this bill become law before the session ends.”

Hopefully this will be our last call before the session ends this Saturday, July 31st.  As I wrote yesterday, if the bill doesn’t get to the Governor’s desk by then it will die.

THANK YOU for all of your work on this legislation.
