Members

MACDC has two types of members – full members and associate members. Full members are community development corporations who meet our newly updated definition of a CDC. Our new definition is much more flexible than our prior one and simply requires that the organization be a non profit organization whose primary purpose is advancing community development and is genuinely accountable to and governed by the constituency it serves. Full members are entitled to all of the benefits of membership, can serve on the board of directors and vote on all matters coming before the membership including the board elections and changes to our by-laws. We currently have over 60 full members and we are actively recruiting new members who meet our expanded definition. For more information click here or contact Shirronda Almeida.

Associate members are private, non profit organizations corporations that are engaged in one or more aspect of community development but do not meet our definition as a CDC. They receive most of the same benefits as full members, but do not serve on the board and do not have voting rights. We currently have 26 associate members.
